BDSA Instructor Profiles:
VIHANG NIKALJE – DANCER & SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
Vihang Nikalje became a part of the Shiamak Davar Dance Company in 2000. He has travelled across India teaching dance at various Shiamak centres. Vihang has toured with Shiamak for performances across India, Dubai, South Africa and many other cities. Vihang also performed with Shiamak at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland). He has performed in songs choreographed by Shiamak Davar for Bollywood films Bunty Aur Babli, I See You and Dhoom 2.
Vihang was commissioned by Shiamak to train 400 dancers from Melbourne for the Closing Ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games (Melbourne). He is the General Manager for Shiamak Davar International (Australia) and teaches classes across Melbourne and Sydney.
DARSHAN PAWAR – DANCER & SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
Darshan Pawar has been a member of The Shiamak Davar Dance Company since 2003. He was Assistant Choreographer to Shiamak Davar for the Bollywood film Tare Zameen Par. Darshan has performed in Bollywood movies BuntyaurBabli, Kisnaand I See You. He has also assisted Shiamak with the Adidas television commercial starring cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
In addition to training students in SDIPA classes across India and Australia, Darshan has also performed at International events and at several high profile shows choreographed by Shiamak Davar in Singapore, Amsterdam, London, South Africa. He also performed at the Closing Ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games (Melbourne).
RADHIKA SARVE – DANCER & INSTRUCTOR
Radhika never dreamt that she would be dancing and teaching dance lessons in a mainstream dance company, however this new chapter of her life began in 2006 where she was a performer at the Closing Ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games (Melbourne) before becoming a member of the Shiamak Davar Dance Company. Radhika now teaches classes in Melbourne and performs across the nation.
KARISHMA SINGH – DANCER & INSTRUCTOR
Karishma has always had an innate passion and love for dancing since childhood which has flourished after joining the Shiamak Davar Dance Company. After partaking in the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony in 2006 she commenced her journey with Shiamak Davar and has not looked back since. She has performed with the Dance Team at many events including, ‘Bend it like Bollywood’ staged in Canberra and Melbourne, The Premier’s Games Appeals dinner in Adelaide and also had the opportunity to perform at the Indian Film Festival in 2009 in front of the Bollywood diva, Rani Mukherji.
With Shiamak, Karishma has not only evolved as a dancer but also as a person. She shares her love for the gift of dance with others.
